Baton Rouge man faces drug charges from warrant execution

Finding out that you are facing drug charges can bring up feelings of fear and regret. This is especially true if those charges have harsh penalties, such as a lengthy prison sentence or high fines. Baton Rouge residents might be interested in learning about a man who now faces a variety of charges, some of which are drug related, that resulted from a search warrant executed by police.

A search warrant was executed by police on Dec. 10, 2013 on Oak View Dr. With the assistance of a Narcotics K-9, police found 1.8 kilos of cocaine and $69,000. The officers also found 10 units of ecstasy, 7.6 ounces of promethazine with codeine cough syrup, 116 units of hydrocodone and 16.5 grams of marijuana. A handgun was also found in the residence of the 40-year-old male suspect.

This search warrant was executed as the result of a long-term investigation. As a result of the findings during the search warrant execution, the suspect faces a variety of charges for drug offenses and other crimes, for which he was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. He has been charged with possession and intent to distribute cocaine, marijuana, hydrocodone, MDMA, MDMA and codeine. Because he was a convicted felon, he faces charges of possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Finally, he faces charges for obstruction of justice.

If you or a loved one is facing drug charges, navigating through the criminal justice system can prove stressful. Getting assistance from an experienced Baton Rouge criminal defense attorney can sometimes make the proceedings a little less challenging.
