Louisiana man arrested for evading sex offense registration

If you are accused of a sexual offense or sex crime, it is extremely important that you take your legal defense seriously. Not only can a conviction lead to legal consequences such as fines and jail time, but due to sex offender registry laws, you will be legally required to register as a sex offender. Being a registered sex offender will affect the rest of your life in various ways, mainly because this information will be available to those who seek it out.

It would be nice to imagine that nobody will discriminate against you for your past, but unfortunately this is not the case. If you are a registered sex offender, you will likely have a more difficult time finding a job, and you may even become a social pariah in any area to which you move. Because of how difficult life can be as a registered sex offender, some convicted sex offenders attempt to evade sex offender registry, but evading this registration can cause even more legal trouble.

Back in 2009, a Louisiana man was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile. The man did not comply with the sex offender registry laws, an offense for which he was wanted in both Louisiana and Texas. He was recently discovered hiding in a Louisiana home and was arrested by the authorities.

It is understandable for a person to wish to avoid registering as a sex offender, but disregarding the law is never recommended. The most effective way to avoid registering as a sex offender is to approach your sex crime accusations with the assistance of an attorney so that you can prove your innocence. If you are never convicted of a sex crime, you will not have to register as a sex offender.
