Louisiana troopers assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division commonly team up with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to investigate cases involving prescription drug and narcotics distribution. Recently, state troopers working in the Baton Rouge Criminal Investigations Division arrested a 46-year-old St. Amant man for several drug offenses. Targeting the man, they executed a search warrant at his home. According to the authorities, they discovered 54 marijuana plants, varying amounts of prescription drugs and a small amount of marijuana at his home.
The man was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and charged with distribution of Schedule II narcotics, specifically Oxycodone, as well as cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana.
