Teen implicated in the death of his grandfather

| Nov 13, 2013 | Firm News, Murder & Other Homicide Crimes |

If you’re charged for murder, you know that you’re likely to see many hours in court or developing a defense, even if you haven’t done a thing. Fortunately, like in all other locations in the U.S., a murder charge in Louisiana has to be proven. If you’ve been watching the news recently, the discussion of the possibility that an 18-year-old man was the killer of his grandfather has come up. The man is charged with the murder of a 64-year-old man, according to the Oakdale police chief.

According to the news, the man who was killed raised his grandson, which is also the 18-year-old who is now being charged with killing his grandfather. News reports don’t say why the police believe the young man was responsible for the death of his grandfather, but reports do share the fact that the two allegedly lived together in their home in Oakdale. Reports state that a gunshot was heard in the home at around 9 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, and when police arrived, the older man had been shot.

Reports state that the man was killed as a result of one gunshot wound to his chest/torso. At this time, the police have accused and charged the man’s grandson with second-degree murder, and they have not set his bail at present.

This case is upsetting, because this man is being charged with murder while also having to deal with the loss of a loved one. If you’ve been charged for a murder, you don’t have to admit guilt or allow yourself to be taken advantage of by the media. You and your attorney can develop a strong defense and protect yourself and your reputation.
