Being accused of any crime can be frustrating, but when you’re suspected of murder, you may want to look into your legal rights immediately. Murder and similar charges have some of the most serious penalties, so it’s important to begin developing a strong defense as soon as possible.

According to the news from Jan. 11, a man who is suspected for murder in Mississippi has been arrested in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. According to the news, the Natchez Police Department in Mississippi had received a tip that the man may have been in Louisiana. After investigating, officers with the Baton Rouge Area Violence Elimination program found the man in the back of a residence on Winbourne Avenue. He allegedly refused a number of verbal commands when officers arrived. The man was taken back to the police department in Baton Rouge and is awaiting extradition back to Mississippi.

Police reported that the home also contained marijuana and crack cocaine in one of the bedrooms. After further investigation, the officers learned that the drugs allegedly belonged to another person living in the home. That man, age 36, and a woman, age 28 were also arrested. The woman was arrested for helping the man wanted on murder charges evade police by renting a motel room for him.

If you’ve been accused of a murder, the case will likely be in the media a lot. This can lead to a biased jury, so your attorney may work diligently to keep the case out of the media as much as possible. An experienced legal professional is needed in order to ensure your rights are protected as your case moves through the legal system.
