If you’re charged with a serious crime like homicide or murder, you probably want to know what your options are. In any case, you aren’t guilty until you’re proven to be so, which is why it’s important to have a strong defense against the murder charges you face. You have a right to have your side of the story heard.

In Baton Rouge, a woman who has been charged in relation to a murder from decades ago allegedly wants her confession to be thrown out. According to the news, the woman had been charged for a murder she allegedly committed three decades ago, and now she wants to make sure the jury is banned from hearing a confession from 2012. According to the news, the 48-year-old woman was questioned without an attorney present in New York during a 2012 arrest.

Additionally, she and a man were both arrested in relation to the murder in 1984, but according to the news, there wasn’t enough evidence to pursue the case. The re-arrest in 2012 was completed to look for blood and to test for DNA in the Cadillac abandoned by the murdered man. There was allegedly not enough evidence to prosecute the 65-year-old man accused of murder with the 48-year-old woman.

In murder cases and with almost any crime, you have a right to speak with an attorney and to be interviewed with an attorney present. Missing this step could hurt the prosecution’s case. If you’ve been charged with a crime like murder or homicide, you may want to consider seeking legal help.
