If you are facing a drunk driving charge, then you need to know the facts about defending yourself. You need to know that the police must follow strict procedures when testing you for your blood alcohol content and when searching or seizing your property. Drunk driving charges can change your life, but with the right knowledge, a strong defense is possible against the charges.

There are likely many fans of pop sensation Justin Beiber in Louisiana. The news media was in a frenzy after an arrest in January. He is now reportedly seeking a delay in his DUI trial. According to his lawyers, they need more time to prepare his case. The court filings say that the prosecution agrees with the delay. According to the story, the 20-year-old has been charged with driving under the influence in Florida, as well as driving with a suspended license and resisting arrest.

Interestingly, the alcohol breath tests the police gave Beiber found that the young man had a blood alcohol content under the 0.02 legal limit for those under the age of 21. His charges may be due to the urine tests that showed that he had marijuana in his system along with anti-anxiety medications.

It’s not clear what kind of fines or penalties he could face if found guilty on the charges. Right now, his trial is set for May 5.

Those who are facing charges for DWI must carefully consider the effect a conviction could have on their lives. There could be problems with work or school, in addition to family and friends. Developing a strong defense against the charges will give a defendant the best chance at the case ending in a positive outcome.
