This case involving a murder is unusual to say the least. The man who was killed by his son-in-law has a checkered past, and there is little information on why the son-in-law shot him before trying to kill himself. It’s been suggested that the pair’s relationship may have been the reason for the murder.
A Baton Rouge TV personality has allegedly had a sexual relationship with his son-in-law, the Iberville sheriff claims. The TV personality died recently after his son-in-law allegedly shot and killed him. The 52-year-old man was the host of the “Around Town” show on WAFB-TV in Louisiana.
It’s believed that the case was meant to be a murder-suicide; after the man’s son-in-law allegedly shot the 52-year-old once in the head, the man then allegedly tried to kill himself. He survived the incident, and he’s remained in critical condition at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.
The 52-year-old man who passed away had previously been acquitted of child molestation charges in the 1990s in the United Kingdom. After he was acquitted, he moved to the United States with his daughter in 1996. The man’s son-in-law, a 36-year-old, is married to the man’s daughter. It’s claimed that the marriage was a sham used to get the man his citizenship in the United States. He had been from the U.K. and was a former student of the 52-year-old’s dance studio.
Around a week before the man was killed, he became involved in a custody battle over two adopted children. It’s claimed that the 52-year-old man had falsified his adoption documents. It’s possible that the man also left the U.K. under a fake name, which could mean that he had outstanding charged there.
When you’re charged with murder, there are several things to consider, including the defense strategies that may be used. An experienced criminal defense attorney can provide more information.
