Louisiana State Police arrest three with marijuana, cocaine

The Louisiana State Police Troopers are out to get people suspected of drug trafficking and three people in West Baton Rouge Parish are now sitting in jail after troopers pulled them over on a traffic stop. The two separate traffic stops happened earlier this month, possibly indicating a series of upcoming drug busts.

Former Penn State coach faces charges of child sexual abuse

Our Baton Rouge readers may already be aware of the recent allegations against former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky. For those of our readers who haven't heard, Sandusky was arrested earlier this month and charged with 40 counts of child sexual abuse. Those charges reportedly stem from incidents that took place over a 15-year period with four boys.

Louisiana man exonerated of rape after 30-year prison stay

Recently, a 50-year-old Louisiana man was released from prison after being there 30 years from an offense for which he was not guilty. Henry James had been in the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola since his rape conviction in 1982. According to sources he had been convicted of raping a woman in 1981, but recent DNA tests prove that he was not guilty of the rape.

Texas man faces charges after crash leaves Elmira woman dead

A 36-year-old Elmira woman was recently killed in a crash near Millerton, and the Texas man responsible for the accident has been charged with DUI. Sources said the man was driving a pickup truck when he struck the victim in her SUV. According to authorities, she died at the scene of the accident. The accident occurred on October 21.
