Our firm handles complex federal cases, including federal crimes involving:

Federal Sentencing Guidelines

Penalties for federal crime convictions are generally based upon the level of offense and the criminal history of the defendant. However, Supreme Court cases of the 21st century (such as United States v. Booker) have deemed the guidelines violate the defendant’s Sixth Amendment right to a trial by jury. Therefore, federal sentence guidelines are no longer viewed as mandatory. Judges may use the guidelines, but are not required to issue a sentence within the guidelines.

With over 65 combined years of experience in state and federal criminal defense, the attorneys at Damico & Stockstill know how to present a case effectively to the judge or jury in order to obtain the most favorable result based upon the facts.
